OUT OF THE BLUE

L’acqua è il nostro primo elemento. Ognuno di noi è nato dopo mesi di immersione nel liquido amniotico e l’essere umano si è pian piano adattato alla vita terrestre ma conserva, nel profondo delle cellule, la memoria della sua precedente vita acquatica.

Al centro di Out of the Blue c’è un gigantesco acquario contenente 8000 litri di acqua. Dentro l’acquario due uomini immersi (Frédéri Vernier e Sébastien Davis-VanGelder) che si muovono, si sfiorano, si scontrano, si distendono, si avvicinano, mettendo in discussione il modo in cui percepiamo lo spazio, il tempo e il nostro stesso corpo. I due straordinari performer sono pronti a confutare ogni regola della fisica e della logica mescolando nuoto, acrobazie, apnea e danza in uno spettacolo mozzafiato che è una continua sfida tra i nostri limiti biologici e il desiderio umano di andare sempre più in profondità ed è anche un poetico omaggio all’elemento di cui siamo principalmente costituiti.

Water is our first element. Each of us was born after months of immersion in amniotic fluid and the human being has slowly adapted to life on land but retains, deep in the cells, the memory of his previous aquatic life.

At the center of Out of the Blue is an aquarium containing 8000 liters of water. Inside the aquarium are two men moving, brushing against each other, bumping into each other, unfolding, coming near each other, putting into discussion the way we perceive space, time and our own body seeking our memory of our previous aquatic life.
